Discovered in 1849 in Égliseneuve-près-Billom, this monumental sculpture dates from the 2nd century AD. In other words, it was manufactured almost two millennia ago. With this “cavalier à l'Anguipède”, the Gallo-Romans saw the victory of light over the chtonian forces infernal chaos and barbarism.
