Hunted: Such a great, unbelievable night with Patsie. She said she wanted to make me happy. She said she knew what a guy like me really wanted. I wanted assertive stuff. A touch aggressive maybe - What I wanted. But then it was 7 am. Only 2 hours to get my suit on and in to the office. “I know.” she said, “Go the back road, towards Helensboro Pike. Save you twenty minutes. Turn right at Aaron’s cafe. Then first left.”She gave me a sweet little kiss on the lips and called me sweet, stupid names. “By Steve”, she whispered, rather coyly. Acknowledging my control, my right to be assertive. At Aaron’s cafe he came out and said. “Yeah the left turn. Surface OK, but don’t race, son - some debris on the road yesterday. May not be cleared. Guess with that suit and necktie you’re late for some big deal.”I laughed and thanked him. He waved me off. After 3 miles maybe the road was twisty and I slowed. Just in case. Plenty of time. Then something hit the front left tire. What a bang. I thought “Oh f..k” and braked to a stop. Got out. Tire in shreds. Geared myself to get out the spare tire. Or maybe phone for assistance. Either way late. Might as well just get out the spare tire.I walked round to the back, and Thank f..k there was a guy on the skyline, looking as it he was out hunting. Cammo clothes and a rifle of sorts. He started to stroll down the gentle slop. “Can I help? he said. He was holding his weapon with firm, practiced hands, low down across his body.“Thanks. I could do with…”His face didn’t change but the muzzle of his rifle came up slightly. “Well, thinkin’ things out clearly, I guess. Put your hand up and kneel down. Quiet like, son”He cradled the rifle over one arm. The muzzle was still pointed at my chest. I raised my hands and knelt. An assertive shouldn’t kneel, but I knelt before a gun. With his free hand he unhitched a cammo bag from low down on his back and tossed it in front of me. “Guess you’ll find what’s needed in there.”Hard plastic cuffs, white rope, a soft leather wad“The wad first. Then secure it with that little poece of white rope.”“Look. I mean. Must be some mistake…”“No mistake, son.”First the leather wad. Then the white rope. He as looking restless and came closer. “You’re goin’ to feel the butt of this. Then the cuffs. I put one cuff round my left wrist in front of me. My head drooped as I brought it behind my back to secure the other one. “Don’t let your head drop” I thought. “Don’t just cave in. Yu could take him. But he has the gun.”“Look.. I.”He just took a step and belted me round the back of the head with the heel of one hand. I went face forward. Dust in my eyes and even into my gagged mouth. He was astride me in a second, pulling at my shirt and necktie. He grabbed rope from inside the cammo bag and tied my ankles. One hand on my torn collar, one pulling my hair. Then he played me. Slaps and chokes and each time I tried to fight and the rope round my ankles help and my face was in the dust again. You wouldn’t dare try this without a gun, I thought. I suppose I looked up into his face and something in my eyes must have said something.“You’re learning son. Time to get you moving”He untied the rope round my ankles. He yanked my upwards and I stood. My legs were shaking. “Don’t you fall, son!”I made it, prodded hard every step with the rifle muzzle, Over the skyline to a space of dust and bushes, and a heavy vehicle with no windows besides the cab. two metal back doors. No windows.A silent voice in me yelled “Don’t get in there!″ I barked into the leather wad and rope gag. Turned towards him. I thought “Run”. How dumb. He laughed and opened the doors at the back of the vehicle.“Don’t even try”, he said, and rammed the rifle muzzle into my stomach.Only seconds of struggling I suppose and I was stretched out in the van.“He took a hunting knife out of a rack. Sharp, serrated blade. “Time to see what you got on under that office suit”, he said. He started to rip the material; “And then get what’s left of you secured for a journey.” -- source link
