panthea-comic:Characters of Panthea - 3/6It is a time of gods and legends; a world where every ancient pantheon, hero, and monster can be found. It is perhaps a little time after the world settled from its violent creation into its stable form, but still long before all the sagas and prophecies have wound their way towards their inevitable end. A time when even the gods are new in their divinity. Our story begins with six of these gods, drawn down from their high heavens or up out of their underworlds by some urgent call—a call to adventure, or redemption, or perhaps simply diversion from the divine mundane. As if by chance— but can it be mere chance, with a god of luck in the mix?— these six legends are brought together, six separate causes all joined in a single band.Camilla is a legendary warrior of the pre-Roman Volsci tribe, blessed as an infant with the favor of the moon-goddess Diana. Her gait is so swift that she can run across water and set fields ablaze behind her; her spear pierces through the ranks of armies and the scales of monstrous beasts; her voice is sure enough to give commands even to a god. She is fearless in battle, for she knows that none may strike her down without incurring instant death at the hands of an outraged Artemis—perhaps too fearless, even, for she is still but a mortal. While the other gods are strangers to the mortal realm, Camilla is its child, and heroism comes to her as a matter of course for one raised as a sanctified huntress of Diana. One might only set her in the direction of a horror to be slain, a battle to be won, or a feat to be performed, and like as naught she would hasten to it for the sheer joy of it. -- source link
