thequeenvegan:couspurr:thequeenvegan:couspurr:This is really, really dumb. The fact of the matter is we raise animals to legally kill them (it’s usually pretty humane and quick), and most people in Asia (it doesn’t just happen in South Korea, also parts of China and Vietnam) who slaughter dogs do it in a totally more inhumane way–the dogs suffer usually for at least 24 hours, dehydrated, starving, and crushing each other in a crammed trunk of a car, before being beat to death, which often takes a few tries and is really sloppy. They also oftentimes steal pet dogs from their homes without the owners being aware. Oh, it’s also borderline illegal and very unsanitary. So shut the fuck up, you uncultured swine. Watch a documentary and get depressed. You really don’t think pigs, cows, chickens etc are treated that way? Maybe you should watch some documentaries and get educated. The reality of factory farming Harling farm exposed Brutal chicken industry Land of hope and glory Hidden camera exposes McDonald’s farm They’re suffering too but people just don’t seem to care because they’re not cats and dogs. The people who kill dogs in China believe that the more a dog is beat before it is killed, the tastier the meat is. They often skin them alive. You think we do that? You think American farmers go around beating their animals for the fun of it? You probably do, because you’re a crazy person, obviously. Go fuck yourself. Baby chicks are ground up alive, this is common practice in the US (source)The majority of US calves raised for veal are reared indoors in individual stalls typically measuring 30 inches wide by 66 inches long. Although commonly referred to as “crates,” veal stalls are constructed with open backs and partial walls separating each individually confined calf. Calves in veal crates spend their entire lives tethered or chained to the front of the narrow stall, restricting virtually all movement until they reach slaughter weight. This lack of exercise prevents normal muscle development, to satisfy gourmand preferences for tender baby flesh. (source)In the US chicks are ground up alive and male calves are often kept in crates, their movements restricted so their bodies don’t grow properly because people prefer the taste of tender baby flesh. Here’s footage from a Tyson farm in the US. It shows them standing on the chickens heads, slaming and throwing them around and crushing them under forklifts. This is an example of farm animals being abused for fun in America.Statistics vary but it’s estimated that 25 million dogs are killed each year for food. Over 8 billion farm animals are killed for food in the US alone and over 56 billion farm animals are killed for food each year worldwide, that’s not even including fish and other sea life whose deaths are measured in tonnes.Do you seriously think that it’s only the people who kill dogs in Asia that are capable of being abusive? You don’t see it as abuse when cows have their throat slit, when chicks are ground up alive, when pigs are put into gas chambers? It doesn’t matter where in the world it happens or what animal it happens to, all animal abuse is wrong and should be fought against. -- source link
