Leonardo Da Vinci’s anatomical sketches of the shoulder and arm. In the early 1500s, Da Vinci participated in at least 30 cadaver dissections and made several notebooks of sketches. His plan was apparently to publish a comprehensive anatomy textbook, but he never finished it, and Andreas Vesalius’ book, published in 1543, served as the standard anatomical text of the time. -- source link
