So happy to see all of the support going her way. Everybody remembers that we absolutely knew this would happen, right?Like, trans people predicted this from the start. Everyone was SO SURE they could identify us on sight, and we said “If you run with that assumption you’re going face-first into a goddamn wall” and here we go. Friendly reminder radfem ideology doesn’t accidentally negatively impact cis women of color, it directly targets them. Schools will now only be safe for cis white girls and the women who wrote this legislation won’t have a problem with it. This is like why I really try to hammer home again and again with women of color why we need to stand and fight for our trans sisters. Not only for intersectional solidarity and tolerance, but because if they manage to attack and demean and publically suppress the rights of trans women on the basis of not fitting their standards of womanhood, it’s only a matter of time before they do the exact same thing to brown cis women. -- source link
