Spider Decorator Crabs (Camposcia retusa) live across reefs of the Indo-Pacific ocean. They collect debris such as shell fragments and small stones, or snip sponges and corals, and attach them to their velcro-like exoskeleton. This helps the crab to blend into its environment, and in the case of some sponges and corals, can provide a distasteful deterrent for predators.Photo: Crab Database/Ling-Kuang Tseng -- source link
