sweetfirebird:Jericho Candelario’s Gay Debut“Potts,” Lincoln said gently after a long time seemed to have passed. “You’re about to fall asleep. Lean toward me a little.”Jerry opened his eyes but did as he was told, bumping into what he sleepily thought was the edge of the bench seat of the nook, then realized was Lincoln’s shoulder. He pulled away and blinked hard before risking a look to Lincoln’s face. Lincoln had shifted closer but was making a point to continue to work on his tablet. Although, from his hand motions, he was playing a game. “Sorry.” The world was different. The lights seemed dimmer, the music softer. The sky outside the windows had darkened to true gray. “Don’t be.” Lincoln gave him a gentle smile and a glance then stilled when their eyes met. Lincoln was so much bigger than Jerry when they were this close. He cleared his throat but his voice stayed husky. “You’re tired and I’m sturdy.” Lincoln was sturdy and fine and delicate. If this were a novel, if second chances were real and Jerry wasn’t a practically untouched, useless coward of a man, he imagined he could have leaned forward to kiss Lincoln’s mouth. He wasn’t even sure he could dare to put his head back down onto Lincoln’s shoulder. But he couldn’t look away with Lincoln so serious.
