galaad-spectre:The Phantom Drumer of Tedworth by Marc DavisDuring the conception of the Haunted Mansion in the 50’s, Ken Anderson wanted to fill the house with famous spooks. One of the has clearly been identified as the Phantom Drummer of Tedworth thanks to a note on a Marc Davis sketch. This is one of the first written testimonies about a Poltergeist investigation case in England. In 1661 in the country of Wiltshire, John Mompesson, a rich landowner sued a drummer nammed William Drury. As a result, he put him in jail and after this event, Mompesson became the victim of supernatural manifestations in his home. He heard frightening loud noises at night, particularly the sound of a drum. He suspected William Drury to seek revenge by the use of witchcraft or if he died in prison, his spirit came back to haunt him. The case spreaded in the country and many curious people, even members from the aristocracy came to investigate the house but they found nothing. Only Mompesson experienced the haunting. -- source link
