oldschoolfrp: Horn of Blasting, portable biblical siege weapon (Larry Elmore, D&D Expert Rulebook, TSR, 1983) – In BECMI D&D, at the DM’s discretion, the horn might collapse a cottage with a single blast or destroy a 10′ section of castle wall with three uses. AD&D introduced a 10% cumulative chance of the horn exploding if used more than once in a day, raised to 20% cumulative in 3.5 and 4e. It’s even less reliable in 5e with a flat 20% chance to explode on every use, causing twice as much damage to the user as it would have done to an enemy. Time to get blasted! -- source link
