My tips for mums expecting. These are just things that I have found to be soooooo helpful to me in this first weeks and these things have made life a little easier…. other then my hubby and mum lol. 1. Belly band! I got an express delivery of a belly band on day 5 and I really wish I had this from day 1. By day 5 my back was about to give way because of all my tummy muscles being weak you really use your back so much more. With breastfeeding I could only get a latch leaning forward to start with. One day of wearing this belly band and I have woken up with a good back and my tummy has shrunk so much more! But just feeling that support around belly and back has been really comforting. 2. Witch Hazel on a pad and put in the freezer. I did this the first couple of days and the swelling went down dramatically. I was pleasantly surprised. 3. A really good organic nipple balm for over night. During the day I have been trying to air them and get sunshine on them. Also squeezing a bit of colostrum on them and letting that soak in. (Edit week 8 and I haven’t needed the balm at all now) 4. Winged pads, seems like a little thing but trust, having wings on a Maternity pad is definitely a good idea. 5. Bonds maternity bras, I spent a lot of money getting a few expensive maternity bras thinking that they would be better but bonds have been the most comfortable and supportive bra and you don’t want any hard fabric or lace near your sore nips lol. 6. An all natural organic soother. Now I’m not sure on ppls take of soothers but I have found it to be a lifesaver. I actually found he latched better after introducing it so do your own research but I found it really did sooth him. 7. Baby carrier, so I tried a sling at first but we didn’t really get along. Then I got the ergo baby Omni 360. It’s been awesome I just felt it was way more supportive and way easier to put on. 8. Swing- I didn’t get this until 3 weeks but you probably won’t need it right away but it is good to put them in and get some cooking, exercise, shower or to just have something to eat baby free.
