She never would have guessed that she was missing so much, relying on just her human senses! The bouquet of scents, each with its own rich texture, competes for her unpracticed attention, and even things that smelled bad before, like sweat, have been revealed for the far more nuanced, complex, and interesting information they convey. Information about people – a pinched sensation from someone in a bad mood; a somehow skewed scent indicating someone fighting a cold. And about things – an exciting richness in the earth, that she somehow knows signifies fresh mushrooms; a solid, base scent in thick, wet mud.And as the changes keep going, her new snout just gets stronger. Aimee is almost overwhelmed by it all – and she finds that the new sensations excite her. Maybe her new nose has it right.
