ro-blaze: Fi, the Spirit of the Master Swordso something came up in the Zelda discord server that reminded me of this old drawing (she was supposed to have a matching Ghirahim that I never got up to finishing, rip) and I decided to pick it up, finish it, and throw it y’all’s way.this is the redesign of Fi you’re going to see featured in my storiesI’m really happy with the colors and with the shape of her, and especially with how the subtle allustion to the hilt is even more obvious when you give her a tail. the main visual inspiration, beyond her canonical design, is birds - I borrowed some design elements and almost all of her color scheme from that of the eastern bluebird and the peafowl, which is most obvious in the tail. (Ghirahim’s, if ever ever get to him, are a blackbird and an albino peafowl, so they match.) I’m really happy with how it came out!for Fi, I wanted to emphasize her already lovely halfway split theme - similarly to my Hylia design, Fi also has vitiligo, though instead of being more dispersed thorough her body and symmetrical, her markings are mostly on the left side of her body. she also heterochromia - her left eye is gold, her right is indigo. the golden lines you see on her skin are supposed to resemble kintsugi (a japanese tradition of repairing broken items with the help of gold) and are inspired by @aufi-creative-mind’s own kintsugi Fi, which you should absolutely check out!in her ‘human’ form (which I like to headcanon she develops while traveling with Link in Skyward Sword), her wings take the shape of a little cape/hood she can pull over her head.
