tea-drinking-ninja-penguin: terferson: shamelesslyunladylike: hell-if-i-care: coelasquid: beckyisawrecky: sourcedumal: roachpatrol: jasonrainville: The Bather Tried for a twist on the classic art history trope of the bather :) wow this is SO GOOD I thought this was Aveline at first I’ve never heard anything scream “I don’t know what fat women’s bodies look like” louder than this Her ribs are literally still showing through her fat and skin somehow She has skinny girl breasts and nipples angled upwards The bottom of her stomach is somehow defying gravity and angled upwards as well instead of sagging above her crotch Probably because it’s a painting of a stocky, muscular woman, not a “fat” one. Those are serratus muscles, not ribs. You can see them because she’s stretching her body up, the skin on the front is pulled tight while the fleshy masses in the back bunch up (if she was bending forward it would be the opposite, with folds on the stomach and back muscles pulled tight) The breasts are fine, that’s a pretty common look when someone has average sized breasts hanging from muscular pectorals. Nipples angle upwards sometimes, especially when people raise their arms, and not all heavyset women have large breasts. the bottom of her stomach is a little more planar than you’d typically expect to see with this kind of rendering, but again, she’s thick and muscular, the mass of her abdomen is pulled up with the pose and doesn’t have “sagging” fat. Even on heavyset women who AREN’T muscular, that look of fat sagging on the lower abdomen is not ubiquitous. What you’re describing is a very specific type of body as though it’s the only way fat deposits build on heavier set female-assigned bodies. ok this was great and then, “female-assigned bodies” i swear the language is getting more and more widespread it’s disgusting Funniest part is that they used “women” all throughout the post and then on the last line used “female-assigned”. I can’t even judge, it’s probably meant to avoid a torrent of annoyance from people complaining about calling a woman a woman. Also people who still didn’t realize actual strong, muscular women (people in general, actually) don’t look like bodybuilders, apparently. You only get to look “shredded” if you carefully control your diet to lose your natural fat covering, on top of doing a very specific workout regime. This illustration is great, the subject looks very sturdy and powerful. All I see is perfectly shaved pussy and armpits.. And legs… That’s my main beef with this. Why are people so afraid to even draw women’s body hair? ok but can we appreciate the body type. Yeah the hair is an issue ok yeah someone used female assigned to describe women but neither of these are news, are they? We all know this is widespread. Lets enjoy this really well done painting of a woman with a non-traditionally beautiful body. Because I can assure you if you google the painting god and man both of those mothafuckes have ZERO hair anywhere so unless god is shaving his legs and his armpits we can attribute it to the style The artist did a great job and I appreciate this painting a lot. RE the body hair, if you want my 100% honest answer; I just plain forgot :) I could make the argument that as a viking she (alongwith her compatriots) were very vain and well-groomed, but I have no idea if shaving was part of the regimen so that’s just a cop-out. I think I was just so involved in rendering smooth skin that I didn’t even think about it. -- source link
