Pallas’ CatThe pallas’ cat, also known as a manul, inhabits high elevated areas, as high as 15,000 feet, in eastern Asia. Their dense fur gives the illusion that they are larger than they actually are. In fact, they have the longest and densest fur of any cat. They are actually about the size of a domestic house cat.Pallas’ cats are very solitary animals. They hunt alone and mainly feed on small rodents. Unlike most cats, the pallas’ cat has round pupils, instead of the slit pupils most cats have.In the past, they were hunted for their fur, but laws against poaching the animal has caused the hunting to cease. However, they are still recorded as “near threatened” because of deforestation, and the effects of climate change is also a threat.Photo by: Tambako The Jaguar via Flickr -- source link
