What really was impressive about Doukyuusei were not Chiaki Nakamura’s beautiful and detailed backgrounds but the storyboard which brought them alive. Director was the same as in the Mawaru Penguindrum and he clearly has found great chemistry with Nakamura. Cityscape and the rooms feel alive and used just like in Nakamura’s previous works.
