What ever happened to service? There used to be a time when, if you bought a bulky item, an employee would carry it out to your car and put it in the trunk for you. Hell, before that, there was a time when places would happily deliver expensive items with a smile. Now it’s all self-serve this, self-serve that. We have become obsessed with schedule and efficiency, profit and quota. We no longer take the time to help our fellow man, and we are paying the price. The moral fabric of society is unraveling before our very eyes. -- source link
