shorilicious: ♡ Sexy Valentine 2018 ♡ Sexy Zone’s confessions♡ Valentine’s Day memories Shori: My last school had this regulation that you weren’t allowed to give out Valentine’s chocolate. That’s why I have refused them earnestly since my first year in high school and after that I haven’t received any (laughing)… Actually I was a little glad that I had to refuse them (laughing). But it seems that some people enjoyed giving out Valentine’s presents in secret without getting caught. They were too serious about it. Thanks to that I don’t have any sweet Valentine’s memories during my youth (laughing). Although I really love chocolate. Kento: In my fourth year of elementary school there was a girl I fell in love with at first sight and I liked her for three years… Then finally in sixth grade we were in the same class and before Valentine’s I asked her “Will you give chocolate to anybody?”, to that she coldly replied “I won’t give it to anyone” so I also said “Well, seems like you’re unskillful so nobody would eat (your chocolate)” (laughing). Eventually I didn’t get any chocolate but she was going to move away in March, so I held on to the idea that “For me, Valentine’s Day will be until 14th March”, that’s why I kept waiting for that chocolate that I couldn’t give up. With leaving nothing behind she has moved in the end though (laughing). Marius: When I was in Germany, Valentine’s wasn’t about male-female relationships, it was common to give chocolate and roses to people important to you. In elementary and middle school everyone would get together during school break and we would exchange presents while sitting in a circle. I also got chocolate from my male friends, sometimes about ten pieces. Of course I also handed over letters and roses to my friends and told them “thank you for everything”. By the way, last year I gave handmade chocolate to the members. From Kenty (Nakajima) I got chocolate in return. This year as well I want to make handmade chocolate as a present ♪ Fuma: When I got handmade chocolate for Valentine’s, I remember the feeling being bittersweet. In elementary school I felt a little embarrassed to receive chocolate from girls. Of course I was happy. I got really excited about it but when I received chocolate from the girl I liked, I couldn’t express my feelings earnestly and say “thank you”. However after receiving chocolate, I would properly give it back to everyone. I would go buy candy and marshmallows together with my mum. Because it was awkward to give it (to the girls) in school, I remember going to their homes one by one to hand it over. Sou: I got chocolate from a junior girl in my postbox once. She was a little cheeky, so it seemed that she wanted to get caught. I thought girls like that are cute so I was wondering what she really liked about me♡ When I peeked into my postbox, my friend was close to me so I was really hesitant. After that? There wasn’t any development. Because at that time already I decided “I would definitely enter Johnny’s”, so I had more feelings for Chinen (Yuri)-kun than for my junior girl (laughing). Sexy Zone who debuted as sweet kids now only have Marius who is still left in his teens. While maintaining their “adult cuteness”, the five members will deliver a new growth with their new album “XYZ=repainting”. Their voices became stronger and also their vocal abilities improved!! If you listen to them you will be met with an outstanding performance. Fuma: That’s right! Actually… we can sing pretty well (laughing). We understand the praises, I think this album became something that will make people get to understand Sexy Zone’s music well.Kento: To the people who still have the image of us when we were young in their heads, this album may be a surprise music-wise.Shori: I think this time the main points we established are stylish and cool but since we also properly included pop sound, there will be something to enjoy for the people who liked us before as well.Kento: That’s true! Although there is no childhood left in our pop sound anymore, perhaps it’s more like when everyone goes forward to the next stage in life, I think “XYZ” is like that time period when we have to move forward.Fuma: Yes. Based on this album, I wonder what will Sexy Zone become from now on. That might be a big topic.Sou: Overall it has a really stylish feel to it and from all our albums so far it has a slightly different ambiance. When singing any of these songs at our concerts, thinking about which costumes are good, which lightning is good, our imagination extends with each song.Marius: I get it! Different from our costumes so far I also want to try wearing a different line and a lot of new ideas come up to mind.Shori: With various colours entering our minds, Sexy Zone is now thinking of trendy things that fit with the whole mood. We managed an album like that. The three hit singles “ROCK THA TOWN”, “Gyutto” and “Yobisute” are included on the album as well as a lovely adult song like “PEACH!” and a cool superior song like “Unreality”. Every song is unique!Sou: “Unreality” is amazing. It’s a really cool song!Marius: I love it as well!Fuma: It’s a song that was originally picked to be my solo song. Of course I was aware of the fact that I wanted to sing that song as my solo. But I thought there was a possibility that it would become a better song if the five of us do it together, so I wanted to try that out. I was glad that it resulted in becoming a song where all five of us could show new aspects about us.Shori: It may be obvious but it’s also because the song has a nice melody and good lyrics. I strongly believed in that. I thought this time it was possible for “XYZ” (to become a good album).Kento: Being idols were vocalists as well but each one of us being a songmaker also makes this one of Sexy Zone’s strenghts. We became adults… It seems like we poured our maturity into our music as well. There is one song where you feel that very strongly. It is “O N E ~Our New Era~”. Sou: We used words (in that song) that we really felt in that situation. Kento: It wasn’t in my taste… I mean, there was a new challenge in writing.Marius: I did most of the English part. It was fun~Shori: With our own words, we have packed our feelings into it.Fuma: Yes. Sexy Zone should be felt from now on!
