[Image Description: A woman with light skin, orange hair in a ponytail, green eyes, and a painted white face with black eye makeup and lipstick. She is wearing a black beret, a black choker necklace with a violet charm, a black and white striped sweater with a black tank top underneath, grey wrist-length gloves, black shorts, black and white striped tights, and black slip-on shoes. She has her hands out as though pressing against the side and top of an invisible box from the inside, and is looking back to the Pokemon Mr. Mime behind her. Mr. Mime is a humanoid Pokemon with a light-skinned head, red cheeks, long blue hair-like growths on the sides of its head, a white body with red spherical growths at the shoulders, hips, and front of the torso, long skinny light-skinned legs, white hands with red spots on the fingers, white knees, and blue feet shaped like curled shoes. It has its hands up to press against the opposite side of the “box” it and its trainer are in. Behind them is grass and autumnal trees. End ID.]—– “…!”(The woman walks up to you and hands you a small card, which you then read.)“Bonjour! My name is Chanterelle, and I come from Kalos! Apologies for the unconventional introduction, but I prefer to battle in costume, and while in costume I do not speak. I am looking forward to our battle, no matter who may win!”More Battle Peak representatives! Kalos’s representative is Chanterelle, a professional mime with an eccentric performance style and an equally eccentric battling style. She commands her Pokemon with no spoken word, though it is incredibly likely that there is some sort of telepathy or other nonverbal signaling involved, considering both the fact that her team are almost all psychic-types or Pokemon with psychic-adjacent abilities and the fact that Red was able to get to his skill level without hardly a spoken word himself. Chanterelle can speak, she just refuses to do so in costume as stated above, or whenever she’s wearing that choker collar actually. It’s a soundproofer, it helps keep slip-ups to an absolute minimum hehe.Given that Battle Peak is a Battle Tower-esque setup, Chanterelle’s team is slightly randomized depending on what battle conditions you have set. She will select either three (for single battles) or four (for double battles) from her “full” team of six. She will always include Mr. Mime on her team, and the rest of her team can include Klefki, Zoroark, Chandelure, Wobbuffet, and Malamar.…also you wanna know something? Y'know how last year I got interested in mimes? Thank Chanterelle for that, it’s her fault that I got into mimes! The inspiration research I did, it just ended up captivating me! Though there are some things I, um…I wish I didn’t come across.
