More Phantompup stuff. For the past few weeks my focus has been on prop and environment design. It’s been slow going. Drawing interiors is like pulling teeth for me. I have massive respect for layout and background artists who do this sort of thing all the time. I’m getting better at it though, slowly but surely. Here’s the layout for Christine’s dressing room, and details of various props. I tried out several different layouts, and this is ultimately what I liked best. Simple, snug and warm, but also kind of dark and austere. Everything is designed with canines in mind - so lots of pillows to lounge on, and furniture is low to the ground. My idea was to have it contrast with the Phantom’s lair, which is elaborate, cluttered, and cold. There’s a stand for sheet music, a detail of the wall lamp, white roses, an old tiny portrait of a dog with a violin, and a music box. -- source link
