prisonicfairytales: The Twisted Slaying of Kevin Bacon:On December 24, 2019, a 50-year-old Michigan man by the name of Mark Latunski slaughtered and cannibalized 25-year-old Kevin Bacon, a hairstylist, and student at the University of Michigan-Flint. As stated by reports, the pair met on the popular dating app Grindr. Latunski confessed to authorities that after meeting, he lead Bacon down into the basement in his home and fatally stabbed him in the back before slashing his throat open and severing off his testicles, which he eventually cooked and consumed. Bacon’s disappearance was reported on December 25 after his family grew increasingly worried when he didn’t show up for a family holiday breakfast. Later that day, police discovered Bacon’s car at a local Family Dollar, along with his phone, wallet, and some clothing inside. On December 28, investigators end up finding the conversation between Latunski and Bacon on Grindr, and they took the opportunity to conduct a welfare check on Latunski’s residence. What they would see upon entering the home would be an immensely sinister sighting. Investigators immediately discovered Bacon’s body wholly naked and hanging upside down by his ankles from the ceiling. Latunski allegedly stated to police he tied a rope around his ankles and hung him on a rafter after stabbing him to death and slashing his throat open. After Latunski’s confession to authorities, the judge ruled that he absolutely requires to be psychologically evaluated immediately. The official evaluation will be completed within the next few months, and it will be conducted at the Center for Forensic Psychiatry. Authorities say Latunski has been in their sights for a while before the murder after two men were seen running from Latunski’s home. In October, a man allegedly contacted police after jumping a fence and said the 50-year-old restrained him with leather ankle straps and a chain. The following month, a man allegedly fleed Latunski’s residence wearing only a leather kilt, bleeding from the mouth. The man claimed he was being pursued by Latunski, who told police that all he wanted was his piece of $300 clothing back in his possession. “The man said everything that happened inside that house was consensual,“ a spokesperson for the Michigan State Police explained. ”Nobody on that date wanted to file a complaint, nobody admitted to being a victim.“ As a result, Latunski flew deep underneath the radar. Latunski has quite a lengthy criminal record from throughout the years, including a charge for allegedly abducting two of his four children from their mother in 2013. Albeit the charge was dismissed, his ex-wife claimed he was diagnosed with depression and paranoid schizophrenia. As for Kevin Bacon’s parents, they’re obviously torn about their son’s murder, so I’m sure the insanity plea, in this case, doesn’t really give the Bacon family the closure and justice deserved. Nevertheless, this is how the justice system works when it comes to mental illness. Regardless of Latunski’s mental health, it still doesn’t excuse the savagery executed upon an innocent man who was expecting a comfortable and casual date with another. It’s an unsettling reminder of how vulnerable most of us are when it comes to meeting other people online. Latunski was charged with one count of open murder and one count of mutilation of a human body and is currently detained without bail at Shiawassee County Jail. This case is still on-going, and the trial will commence after Latunski is deemed mentally sane enough to continue forward. -- source link
