PHYSIOTHERAPY The other day I posted that I’m going to the hospital to do my physical therapy and someone mentioned that it was kind of useless and exercises at home for him were enough. And I’d like to bring some awareness to this topic. My doctor prescribed me physical therapy based on examining my current condition, MRI, and X-ray. In my case I’m being treated with ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), and exercises. I’m sorry that for that person physiotherapy was useless or he considered it to be useless. I was thinking why it could have possibly happened like that and the first reason which came to my mind - lack of trust in his doctor. Very often when it comes to pain and problems with the spine it is challenging to heal and recover fast. Sometimes we should have second or third opinion, choose one that we trust the most, and then take action. Second reason - lack of consistency. Physiotherapy has to be consistent, physiotherapy has to be followed by the exercises, and the change in our life style. Once my pain was less after the medications, the doctor sent me to physiotherapy where the neck and shoulder where I had the most pain were treated first by ultrasound and EMS, and then followed by the exercises. To be efficient it has to be consistent. Every day I have to do the exercises that my doctor gave me, and take care about sitting/standing for too long, reducing the level of stress, learning to be patient, and taking care of myself in every possible way. I trust my doctor, I’m consistent, and I’m in the process of healing and recovering. Doctor’s prescriptions are scientifically based, and it takes doctors years of studies and practice to prescribe this or that treatment. I would definitely think thousand times before saying physiotherapy is useless. #physiotherapy #onlinefitnesscoach #neckpainrelief #recovery #cervicals photo by @me_photo_graphy https://www.instagram.com/p/CSBy71iCTTC/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
