It’s My Little Monday!With…G1 Bed Time Newborn Baby Stargaze! Another cute but less common sight is this Bedtime Newborn. There were 3 of these, but they were Europe only releases. This may be the least common of the 3. She is very cute, in quite a bold dark blue. The pink hair and pink eyes are a good contrast for it, as is her yellow symbol. She’s appropriately named, as the star is indeed gazing: there’s a cute smiley face on the larger star. A very well done & solid design for pony. The dark blue is ‘night time’ like, and a good bold change of pace from ‘baby pastel’. The name/symbol combo is great too, and something about this pose is very earnest and charming. The expression is pleasant and calm. The backcard story is the same for all 3 of them (as was common in this era) and tells that the trio were excited to go to the nursery for bed time, but no one wanted to sleep until Baby Stargaze told a story about magic ponies. So she did, and they went to sleep. It is also the usual that the ‘story’ doesn’t amount to very much & the art they used always depicts the ponies as dog/hippopotamus hybrids. The artist, being ever-desperate to depict them with eyes on the front of the face and keep the huge nose. All 3 of the Bedtimes are wonderful to collect, with lovely bold colors, simple but cute/fitting symbols and of course…newborns are 100% adorable. Sadly they’re rather costly because they were toward the end of the line and the USA didn’t get them on shelves. (It took me years to finally finish the set by getting this one–but she is worth it!) -- source link
