Here’s my response to that whole ‘Fanfiction at 13′ review for Turning Red (already posted this on Twitter, but I thought i’d post it here as well). I started drawing a self-insert comic for Star Trek in February, 2007, when I was 14. Not the first self-insert I did, but this is the most significant in my personal history, really. I also had superpowers in this series, like Animorphs and Danny Phantom type stuff XDIf you know my work, it’s probably obvious that this is where my OC Taylor and the start of their story came from (though this story is in an extremely deep hiatus and not even I know when it’s coming back tbh).So yeah, kids do self-insert fan fiction.
