International Turtle and Tortoise Week, Day 5(Days 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5)Closing out this year’s ITTW with a handheld GRUMP: Just like I need Mom to lift me up so I can find the radicchio she put on the other table (and then make her give it all to me!), turtle and tortoise species around the world need humans to lift them up out of danger from extinction. We need people to stop damaging our habitats and hurting us shells with unsustainable practices like longline fishing. We need humans to work together to keep the environment healthy and safe—not just for turtles and tortoises, but for all species, before it’s too late.
