taikawaititismustache: cyclonewarnings: grooming-tails: ramihackme: dellvanity: madeinchernobyl: I’m adding to this because y’all gonna learn some shit about housing your pets. Someone make more I love this new meme. I know that huge homes are great for pets but also did it fucking occur to you that some people don’t have the room or money for those? hey, guess what. those are all minimum requirements. actually, the person who added onto my post even made the bird cage still TOO small for those birds. and if you dont have the money or the space for those pets, don’t fucking get the pet. ☝️☝️ First one is actually different because betta fish (the fish in the bowl) can do well in a bowl tank because they don’t require much oxygen in the tank, as long as you keep the water clean it will be fine!! :) No, they dont. And that was the entire point when I made this post. Bettas need filtration because they’re living animals and can’t live in their own ammonia and it builds up in those tiny bowls. There is no way to build up a proper cycle in a bowl and it takes about a day or two for ammonia to become unsafe for a betta. It’s also stressful as hell for them doing full daily water changes just so their gills don’t burn on ammonia. They also need heated 78-82 degree water because they are tropical fish and there is no safe way to distribute heat in a small bowl, 5 gallons is the minimum to get safely distributed heat. Anything smaller and the heater will typically overheat the water to unsafe temps. They’re living animals just like the rest of the pets the other person added on, and if you can’t treat them with proper love, respect, and purchase them a correct and safe habitat so they can live a stress free life in your care, then don’t get one. Bless this post. -- source link
