This was before the American remake. My older sister was bored and had nothing to do and asked to watch it.Me: “Sure, but be warned: It will mess you up in the head.”A few hours later she was knocking on the door of my bedroom asking if she could sleep in my bed with me. I was not remotely surprised. But then, I was not sleeping either. Like, it’s been ripped off and had too many sequels to count but the original is still a terrifying piece of work. It is hypnotically scary.Which few horror movies can truly pull off. One of the best horror films ever made. A true classic. The American remake was the first horror movie i ever watched and I’ve been forever marked by how scary it was(the idea of it). Can’t look at a tv screen or a mirror in the middle of night. Honestly, too scared to watch the original. The American remake is actually quite good. It explains things more a bit. Naomi Watts is terrific. But it isn’t the original. ^^^ -- source link
