He was partly the inspiration for the main character, Cobra, from the Space Adventure Cobra manga, animated film and anime series. Space Adventure Cobra’s backstory was cribbed literally from Philip K. Dick’s short story ‘We Can Remember It For You Wholesale,’ which was the basis for the Schwarzenegger movie Total Recall.
