But Sigyn, ever faithful, appeared before Loki whom they had abandoned, and sat herself upon the slab between Trickster and Snake holding aloft a bowl with which to capture the serpent’s poison, and save the spited Loki from harm ; and so does she remain to this day, until at last the bowl overflows and Loki, in his pain and grief, shall rip free of his bonds and unleash Ragnarok upon all the world.
