4/7/2018I spent the last 30 minutes of my day struggling to draw this foot…it’s super tricky because the curvature doesn’t stop with the glaze, but continues with the band that is un-painted (the technical term is reserve). THEN, there’s a slight bevel in the reserved band, before it connects with the curve of the underside of the foot. This is super tough to see, though, because the eye is just drawn to the black/red divide which belies the actual curvature of the profile. Basically, it’s just a really slight optical illusion that I think I resolved in the end, but I’m going to look at it with fresh eyes again in the morning. Hopefully I’ll be happy with what I drew. -- source link
