Let’s take a step back from our sudden raging environmentalism and look at these photos. I’m not going to pretend like deforestation isn’t a real thing, and we certainly have some issues taking care of our planet, but I think we need to pause and realize that there are more serious issues here. Specifically, something is clearly wrong in the second image, unless our destruction of the earth over the past 34 years has also included nearly doubling the size of the Americas in relation to the rest of the planet. Just look at the second picture! How can you compare these two when one of them has clearly been altered? I would also like to point out that the season in which these pictures are taken can have a huge effect on the coloring, so the color is not necessarily correlated with the level of deforestation.Not to be a party pooper or anything, I’m just doing today’s official reality check. -- source link
