RECOMMENDS: CLARISSAName: CLARISSABy: Jason YungbluthFormat: Comic, Stop motion animated shortTRIGGERS: Sexual Abuse, Domestic Abuse, Alcoholism, Violence, Family, Pedophilia, Incest, Child Abuse, Self Harm Now, these comics are not for the faint of heart or the easy to trigger. Not at all. The author describes these comics as “a sad story about a happy family”, others describe it as “a comic to ruin your day” and I think that’s the perfect way to put it.Clarissa isn’t a happy story. It is, however, a good one. There are only a few comics, the most famous being “Stuffed Friend”. which was also adapted into two short films. Clarissa is about a girl in kindergarten named, well, Clarissa. She’s abused by her father, and her family keeps it all under wraps. I won’t ruin it for anyone, since this comic needs to be read to be understood.Strangely, Clarissa is one of my favourite comics ever. Empathy is important. Understanding and feeling what others feel broadens your world, especially those that are close-minded. This comic is a comic about understanding. There’s no happy ending. It perfectly encompasses abuse and hopelessness from the eyes of a young child.READ ALL CLARISSA COMICS HERE: *Link*WATCH THE SHORT FILM HERE: *link*this is what i’m talking about when i say that it’s possible to tell a story about horrible awful things without romanticizing it.^^ -- source link
