La leçon. Fanny Fleury (French, 1848-1905). Oil on canvas. Fleury studied with Jean-Jacques Henner and was later accepted to the École des Beaux-Arts as a student of Carolus-Duran, where she was a classmate of John Singer Sargent. Speaking of her work at the 1884 Salon, one critic said Fleury had “equalled her masters,” Henner and Duran. -- source link
