assetandmission:I love the juxtaposition here. As the voiceover talks about Captain America’s “bravery, honor, and sacrifice”, Steve crosses in front of the mural. Because Steve is the living proof of that sacrifice: the ideal versus the reality. He walks through the museum in the shadows, shoulders hunched, always looking down as opposed to Captain America, who always looks up. He’s so much smaller than the Captain America pictures and murals. He’s in his own exhibit – barely in disguise – and nobody notices him except for a child. The world doesn’t want to see Captain America as a broken man who lost everything. So the museum mentions him being a symbol of honor, bravery, and vague ‘sacrifice’, but it doesn’t show the terrible aftermath of that choice. Steve sacrificed everything, including himself, and it made him invisible. -- source link
