Practice with lighting/colors and a re-draw of an old piece that I painted in high school. To see the old piece, click under the cut.This was originally a piece for my AP art class my senior year of high school. When I first made it, I was pretty unsatisfied with the end result. I had this grand idea in my head of what this magical, underwater lamp post would look like with swirling jellyfish and cool lighting, and of course the centerpiece - the whale. It’s funny to look back on my very limited scope of color theory and composition, but I’m also super proud of how far I’ve come in four years. I still have a long way to go, but it’s neat to see where I am now versus where I used to be.2014 piece: -- source link
