This…is not the sort of thing I usually post. I found something interesting in “Hai To Gensou No Grimgar”.In the latest episode, they are talking about skills. One character’s skill is called “Wind”, which requires him to “lock his blade against another”. There is, in fact, a technique in swordsmanship called winden, or to wind/to twist and turn, that comes from the bind, when two blades come to meet each other or ‘locking blades’, which is demonstrated….roughlyish….in the scene above.Not sure if this is coincidental or not, given the Japanese’s fascination with wind. They pronounce it as you would for “a gust of wind” rather than “a winding coil”. This could have been a pronunciation error from ignorance, while the author intended to refer to the fencing technique. -- source link
