Can you guess what this is? Don’t get too close! This is a crown-of-thorns sea star found in Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. This nocturnal creature has venomous spines for predators nearby. The spines deliver a painful sting and may also embed in the unwary intruder.(Photo: NOAA.
