You’re looking at one of the most influential (and least known) art journals of the 20th century: the surrealist magazine Dyn, published by a group of exiled artists in Mexico City in the ‘40s. Four of the names on this journal cover are the same person—Jean Caroux, John Dawson, and Charles Givors are all pseudonyms of editor, publisher, writer, theorist, and painter Wolfgang Paalen. Alice Paalen is his wife; Eva Sulzer, his lover. This week on Getty Voices, join curator Annette Leddy in an exploration of Paalen, the forgotten surrealist. -- source link
