Celebrations are afoot here at the zoo today: although we’ll never know “Mick”’s real natal anniversary, we celebrate August 29th, the day he first came to the hypermasculine enclosure, as his birthday. Although hypermasculine specimens tolerate sugar and processed foods better than most animals, the “birthday cake” we give to “Mick” today will actually be composed of a hypermasculine specimen’s favorite treats: dried fruits, fresh bananas, and wholesome grubs. As is common with our boys, we will no doubt find it necessary to distribute smaller cakes to our other specimens in order to keep squabbling to a minimum. We don’t want “Mick”’s big day to be spoiled! All in all, between the cakes and the extra ration of strong brown liquor “Mick” will also get, we have quite a festive atmosphere in the hypermasculine enclosure today. -- source link
