Health Update: Hello everyone! While slogging along in semi-hiatus mode, the Uprights and I noticed I was having some movement challenges in my caboose. I’m able to go up and down stairs, hop on and off the couch, etc, but it’s taking me a bit longer than it used to and my back legs seemed a bit, “sloppy.”We took a trip to the vet and after a few tests confirmed I’m suffering from ataxia in one rear leg due to age related disc degeneration. The hope is that it’s episodic ataxia meaning that it can be treated and is not permanent. As a first step, we’re trying six weeks of crate rest and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) to reduce the inflammation that is suspected of causing the problem.I’ll continue to post when I can, and will of course provide updates on my progress. While I understand that this comes with the territory of being an Elder Statesmen, I strongly disapprove of crate rest! -- source link
