This is the home I stayed at in Cobán, Guatemala when I lived with a host family for a few days. It’s a Mayan village high up in the mountains, it took a long car ride and then an additional 20 minute hike up the steepest incline I’ve ever seen in my life. My family had a baby pig and my host sisters and I bonded over chasing him around. They speak a Mayan language called Que'chi, but spoke some spanish too so we were able to use that to teach each other words from our native tongues. It’s really dreary in Ohio right now so I’m feeling nostalgic for the beauty of Guatemala. -- source link
