carolferriss:kaleidoruby:pyrolandmayor:dccomicconfessions:“In high school a friend of mine was in a car crash that left her unable to walk. after months of physical therapy she showed no progress. After a tearful confession she told me that she couldnt do anything paralyzed. As an avid comic fan I argued that point. So I bought her Birds of Prey to show her that just because you are paralyzed it doesnt mean that you cant do anything! She found strength in Barbra, i’m upset that they made her walk again, they took away my friends Hero…”Yeah, fuck you, DC. >:COn the flip side, I have seen many posts saying that Barbara regaining the use of her legs has given them hope that they may one day be able to walk as well. She’s still the exact same character, and she is still coming to terms with the fact that she can walk again. People should really read the series before making judgment. (Byn this isn’t directed at you specifically!!)Except that she’s not the exact same character. As a Barbara fan, I would be happy for her for regaining mobility, but not for regressing back to a mantle she has long outgrown.Especially since she herself said that she did more good to more people as Oracle than she ever did as Batgirl. -- source link
