unexplained-events: Monkey Slug Caterpillars ( Phobetron pithecium) Monkey Slug Caterpillars are sometimes mistaken for a hairy spider or for moldy leaf litter. This larvae has six hairy “arms” that curl out from each side of its body which act as suction cups. While they look creepy, the Mokey Slug Caterpillar is actually harmless and its hairs do not sting. They end up transforming into the Hag Moth.
