7.09 Self-Fulfilling ProphecyThis episode was creepy in its own right. I think it was primarily because of Colonel Massey and his sinister aura… And of course the deaths themselves. (I don’t know how the team was able to eat their lunch while discussing this case. XD)The first shot of the soldier hanging from the tree was disturbing enough. And then the camera zoomed out to reveal another one.. and another.. and another.. and finally, a fifth pair of dangling feet. The hair on my arms and the back of my neck stood up. That was some good direction. Also, the death of the guy with the stakes. *shivers*It was also quite eerie to watch the whole corporal punishment thing going on in a military academy. I get those students are supposed to be tough but putting someone in a dryer? :( Even trained soldiers can be pushed to suicide. That’s too sad.I also believed that Josh was innocent. For a while there, I thought he was insane but Colonel Massey was too suspicious. I’m glad he turned his life around. Seeing him hugging his parents was a good payoff.Oh oh. I love that part where Morgan yelled at Hotch. *u* It’s so surreal when one of the team members stands up to him. He’s like the father of the family and children love him to death and to have that scene was so stunning.Oh hey, Erin Strauss was back. Haven’t seen her in a while. Apparently she now has a drinking problem. Wonder why the writers felt the need to introduce that plot line. It will definitely impact the team somehow - like Hotch would have to take her place for a while and leave the team or something. Dunno. Quite interested to see what this means for the BAU.Last note: Reid wore purple again. LOL And I liked the way he greeted Colonel Massey - a peace sign. Out of all the people he could do that to, he did it to a Superintendent of a military school. :)) -- source link
