Large Pterosaur Wing Fossil (Cretaceous) - Niobrara Formation, Smoky Hill Chalk, Gove County, KansasFossilzed wing bones of a Pteranodon longiceps (83 million years old) with 3 claws on matrix. Total bone length is 61 ½" (156 cm). According to published literature by a leading Pteranodon expert, these measurements exceed the size of over 1,000 comparable wing bones in museum collections worldwide, making this possibly the largest wing specimen known to date. The extrapolated wing span for this creature would have been over 24 feet (7.3 meters). -- source link
