prvserpxne:bigbadantianti:prvserpxne:a quick visual guide to the enemies to lovers trope because a lot of y’all are confusedso whats the other one called? people who dont like each other who go to liking each other?also by this standard are beatrice and benedick enemies to lovers? do they count as being on opposite sides of a conflictI haven’t read/seen Much Ado About Nothing so I can’t tell you but the second example better describes the rivals to lovers tropeI feel like Beatrice and Benedick would be on the rivals to lovers end of the spectrum? The main conflict in Much Ado is the underlying animosity between Don Pedro and his brother Don John (which then leads to the secondary rift between Claudio and Hero) and B&B are on the same side of those conflicts throughout. (This is more speculative but I’ve also always thought some of Beatrice’s dialogue implies they had some kind of messy romantic past and that’s why they’re now rivals in the first place.) -- source link
