nebula-cnidaria: Q: Queen of the Damned First off, Anne Rice please don’t sue me for halfheartedly reviewing your movie. Second, if you thought I wasn’t going to watch any more vampire movies with this A-Z list you’re dead wrong, and this isn’t even the last one. I’ve been trying to find fan art of these movies instead of using the regular posters, but there wasn’t a wide selection for this that wasn’t just Aaliyah in the same pose. I really liked this and I’m surprised that I hadn’t seen it before. The soundtrack was a lot of what I’d listen to in high school, so that was a fun little bit of nostalgia. Aaliyah, man, she could’ve gone so far if she hadn’t been killed. I didn’t watch for any subtext in this one despite being sure that it’s there, so I’ll have to watch it again some other time. The acting was a little flat sometimes but I attribute that more to the stoic aesthetic of vampires. Apparently becoming a vampire in this universe makes your hair silky and chic, whereas in Only Lovers Left Alive your hair becomes “Tommy Wiseau” styled. Sex, blood, and rock & roll. -- source link
