Though I teach in a different district, I stand with all teachers who use their teacher voices to advocate for themselves and their students. Teaching is a profession–and teachers should know that they will be compensated for the work they do for their students and community, for the continuing education they receive to continue to grow in their practice, and at a level that allows them to live in the communities in which they teach. You want to attract and retain good teachers? Make it so that they don’t have to work two to three more jobs just to scrape by.Stand strong, friends!
