New Miss Naka!My art’s been slowly improving over the years but I feel like I was getting trapped in the idea that my art needs to look like my art, so even if I made a change it had to look the same, just better. I think that finally bubbled over and there was just too much I was unhappy with, so I went back to square one and redeveloped my style from the ground up. Used Miss Naka as my means of accomplishing this.The biggest changes are the torso and face, but I changed so much, from how I think about muscles, how shapes work in three dimensions, her arms and legs, the colors I pick, how I shade, just so much.Also took this opportunity to update her design slightly. Made her hair not stick out as far, her sleeves are more reasonably shaped, no more wraps around her legs, the pants aren’t torn, and a bunch of other small things.I’ll eventually want to update my other characters but it would take so long to do that, I’m in no rush. Got other priorities. I’d like to get it done eventually, though.I’m so happy with the new style though! It looks like someone who can actually make art made it! I still don’t really believe it’s something I made and am terrified it was a fluke and I’ll never get another character to look this good. -- source link
