notyourexrotic:This right here is the PERFECT photo of a health insurance company literally giving a middle finger to the very people they claim to help. They paid a company to shut off their elevators and display this message for a day, completely bypassing all accessibility laws in the process. The fact that, even if you try to argue that it was merely a “simple oversight” just drives home the point that they did not even think to consider the VERY PEOPLE who pay them for their assistance, makes the whole thing just that much more amazing. I seriously hope this image goes viral and causes an uproar against Blue Cross Blue Shield for their shitty ethics and practices.- Sarah CourtI won’t deny that this is a shitty, shitty message to send, BUT. I can’t find ANY source that says they “paid a company to shut off their elevators for a day”. I found this video. And a great post on XOJane. Yes, it’s a campaign to shame people into taking stairs, and yes that’s a shitty ableist message, but NO, according to everything I’ve read, they did not shut off elevators. -- source link
